This 12-day journey starts in Pretoria and twirls its way through the beautiful landscape and abundant rays towards Swakop in Namibia.
Begin your excitement with some diamond exploration in the famous ‘Big Hole’ of Kimberley. Thereafter visit the Fish River Canyon, second in size to the Grand Canyon, and tour different towns in Namibia.
Explore various natural wonders of Namibia, including immense dunes, Namib-Naukluft Park and the natural Sesriem Canyon, before halting for an overnight visit in the Etosha National Game Park. The voyage terminates with a journey to the quaint seaside towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

Day 1
DEPART ROVOS RAIL STATION
15h00The train departs from Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria, for Kingswood for our overnight stop.Day 2

10h00Visit the Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum in Kimberley, capital of the Northern Cape and well known for the discovery of diamonds, which led to its establishment in 1893. 12h30Return to the train in Kimberley for lunch and depart for Upington.Day 3
NEXT MORNING
09h00Morning tour of Upington, originally a mission station located on the banks of the Orange River – the longest river in South Africa. Wine tasting at Bezalel Brandy and Wine Cellar, situated in one of the most unique vine-growing regions in the world. 12h00The train departs Upington for Nakop for border formalities with Namibia. 13h00Enjoy lunch on board. 09h00Morning visit to the Fish River Canyon, an enormous ravine about 160-kilometres long and almost 550-metres deep, making it the largest in the southern hemisphere and Africa. 12h30Return to the train for lunch and depart for Aus for overnight.Day 5

09h00Full-day tour of the ghost town Kolmanskop and Lüderitz, well known for its colonial architecture and wildlife. 18h00The train departs for Keetmanshoop for overnight.Day 6
NEXT MORNING
09h00Morning tour of Keetmanshoop. See the Giant’s Playground with its 20km-long dolerite dykes as well as Quiver Tree Forest, home to 300 species of the Aloe dichotomy. 13h00Return to the train for lunch and depart for Mariental.Day 7
NEXT MORNING
08h30Transfer to a Sossusvlei lodge in the Namib-Naukluft Park, the largest game park in Africa and fourth largest in the world at about 50 000 square kilometres. Visit the Sesriem Canyon, shaped over millions of years by the Tsauchab River. Afternoon game drive and overnight at the lodge.Day 8
NEXT MORNING
Enjoy sunrise from Dune 45, a star dune over 170-metres high, followed by brunch at the lodge. Take a scenic drive through the hyper-arid Namib-Naukluft Park, home to some of the most unusual wildlife and nature reserves. 18h00The train departs for Rehoboth for overnight.Day 9
NEXT MORNING
09h00City tour of Windhoek. See the Trans-Namib Transport Museum, the Alte Feste (Old Fortress), the Evangelical Lutheran Church – a striking landmark – and the Namibia Craft Centre in the old Breweries Building. 12h00Return to the train for lunch and depart for Otjiwarongo.Day 10
NEXT MORNING
08h30Transfer to a lodge in Etosha National Park, which gets its name from the Etosha Pan, a large salt pan forming part of the Kalahari Basin. Enjoy game-viewing activities. Overnight at the lodge.Day 11

Enjoy a morning game drive before checking out and returning to the train. 15h00Rejoin the train in Otjiwarongo and depart for Kranzberg for overnight.Day 12
