The primary reason to host a safari in Rwanda is to visit the endangered mountain gorillas.

Nearly every serious wildlife enthusiast has the aspiration to stand a few feet away from these magnificent creatures and have a picture taken with these gentle giants in the background.

Once one decides to trek the gorillas, one should be in a physically fairly fit condition and should obtain the correct necessary permits well in advance in order to avoid disappointment.

Itineraries

Day 1

ARRIVAL

Collect from the airport and be transported to your accommodation in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali. If time allows, enjoy a short city tour visiting some memorial and historical places in Kigali. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2

KIGALI - NYUNGWE FOREST

Be driven to the Nyungwe forest, the habitat of the Chimpanzee and other primates.
Dinner and overnight: Kigali

Day 3

CHIMPANZEE TRACKING - PARC DES NATIONALS PNV

Rise early to start the search for the Chimpanzee and other primates’ dwelling in the region. During the course of the day, we will be transferred to the Gorilla Land PNV. Enjoy the dinner and overnight, as you ponder about the chimps

Day 4

GORILLA TREKKING PARC DES NATIONALES VOLCANOS

After an early morning breakfast and we get ready to head to the park, to have a coffee or tea just to warm you up. Thereafter attend a short briefing about your Gorilla trek. Then we head into the jungle in search of these shy but gentle giants. Take pleasure and value every minute of the one hour viewing time you have, with these gentle giants. Thereafter we visit the community living at close quarters to the endangered species. All proceeds obtained, are given back to the community, as a token of appreciating their loving warmth they extend towards these gentle, endangered giants. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5

PNV - LAKE KIVU - GISENYI

After breakfast, we head for Lake Kivu with its idyllic scenery. At Gisenyi, we pause for a lunch and in the early evening, we head to the golden crystal waters of Lake Kivu for a much-deserved sundowner cruise. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

Day 6

LAKE KIVU - KIGALI

Drive from Lake Kivu to the capital, Kigali.
Take a rest at your hotel.
Dinner and overnight in Kigali.

Day 7

KIGALI- AKAGERA

This scenic drive takes us to the wild side of Rwanda as we meander through the rolling hills that define the land of Rwanda. A beautiful and spectacular scenery. Arrive in Akagera where we have a game drive. Dinner and overnight:Akagyera.

Day 8

AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Early morning game drive followed by a community walk.
Dinner and overnight: Akagyera

Day 9

AKAGERA –KIGALI

After breakfast, travel back to the capital. We then embark on a city tour visiting Ntarama memorial Nyanza and Kigali Museum. Wrap up the day with a great cultural extravaganza. Dinner and Overnight: Kigali

Day 10

DEPARTURE

Bid farewell at the airport, till we meet again.
