This safari, takes you to the thickly forested areas in Uganda with forests like Kibale having the highest number of primate species in Africa and Bwindi impenetrable forest with half the population of the world’s remaining highly endangered Mountain Gorillas. Your participation in this safari is of great help in conserving these world’s endangered primates.

Itineraries

Day 1

KAMPALA - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Our road safari starts early with your guide picking you at your hotel. Drive through the captivating towns of Masaka and Mbarara with sights of large banana plantations, the long horned Ankole cattle akin to this area. We make a stop in Mbarara Town for an early lunch break. Drive on with great views of the African savannah stretching to the undulating hills of the greatly terraced slopes of the Kigezi highlands, and finally to the Gorilla habitat Bwindi impenetrable Forest. Travel to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

GORILLA TREKKING BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

Arise early to the great forest sounds of the Jungle for your breakfast. With our packed lunch, we go for the pre-trek update from the rangers who will tell you what to expect in the Jungle. Into the forest penetrating deeper into the dense forest in search for these shy gentle giants. Your trek could last anything from one hour onwards depending on where the mountain Gorillas nested. Therefore, a good physical stamina is required of you and this trek will definitely keep you fit. After your highly experiential Gorilla trek, we believe in giving back to the community. We shall participate in a village walk, where all proceeds from this walk go directly to the locals. This depends on the time spent in the Jungles. During you dinner at your camp, you will openly talk about your experiences in the jungle with other travellers. In all, Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is a memory to last you your life time.

Day 3

BWINDI – KIBALE FOREST

Early rise on this day, have breakfast and continue to Kibale Forest National Park home to man’s closest cousin the Chimpanzees. We may have a game drive in Ishasa sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for tree climbing lions, before continuing to Kibale forest, but this is dependent on whether you trek gorillas in Buhoma and not in Kisoro. Follow the fabled ranges of Mountain Rwenzori to Fort portal town the land of utmost beauty and calm towards the cool lowland and tropical forest with the greatest concentration of primates in Uganda. Drive to your accommodation for dinner.

Day 4

CHIMP TRACKING – KIBALE FOREST

A nice breakfast is a bright start for your search in the forest habitats. Spend half the day in the well-adorned forest with great sights of the various species of Colobus monkeys, Baboons, whistling in idyllic melodies by the lovely forest birds. In this dense forest, we search for our closest family relation, the endangered chimpanzees. Your senses are all called for here as we see, feel, hear and smell the forest. Enjoy lunch and in the afternoon, we shall go for a community walk to the “top of the world”, immense fascination at the Beauty that beholds this Land. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5

KIBALE FOREST- FORTPORTAL-KAMPALA

After our breakfast, we travel to Portal Town and enjoy the fantastic scenes of tea estates and banana plantations. Drive to the legendary “Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru” literally meaning: “the breasts of Mwiru’s mother”. The stalagmites and stalactites here are linked to the history and culture-defining the Tooro Kingdom. Thereafter we drive back to Kampala, where you depart from the airport or you opt to spend another night in Kampala. We can gladly make the reservations at additional cost. It would include a complimentary airport transfer.
