Murchison Falls National Park is 303km from Kampala taking us about 5 hrs of driving.
We pass through Luweero district, one of Uganda’s major food baskets with long stretches of beautiful greenery.
We see large plantations of various crops including bananas, maize, cassava; not missing the fresh organic pineapples on the roadside markets. These are freshly brought from the gardens.
KAMPALA - MURCHISON FALLSOur safari day starts with your guide picking you up at your hotel in the early morning. Enjoy a 3 hr drive to Masindi where you have a coffee break and then continue to the lodge for lunch. Enter Murchison Falls NP and enjoy an evening game drive where you observe various animals retreating to their nightly quarters. Back to the lodge for your dinner and an overnight.
MURCHISON FALLSBefore the crack of dawn we are in the jungle, searching for the big elusive cats from an open safari vehicle. With the skilful eyes of your guide, you are likely to spot Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Giraffe, Elephant, Oribi and Hartebeest only to mention a few. Following your lunch at the lodge, we cruise on the Nile waters to view the gigantic Nile crocodiles which are the biggest in the globe. Watch hippos cooling off from the heat as well as Buffalos and Elephant can be seen at the river banks. As we sail to the base of the Murchison Falls, admire a stunning array of charming birds dotting our skies. For greater action, we stop at the base of the Murchison Falls and take a guided 30 minute hike to the top of the falls. In addition to the amazing scenery, you will also be able to view Uhuru Falls. You will be in awe while viewing the glorious Murchison Falls, which has the most powerful water surge on our globe! Back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
MURCHISON - ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY – KAMPALAAfter your scrumptious breakfast, we drive out of Murchison falls to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary which is the only place you will find the critically endangered Rhinos in the wild in Uganda. This walk, in search for the Rhinos, will take us 1-2 hours.
Have lunch and proceed to Kampala. Drive straight to the airport for your late evening flight.
