Hotels and services in the itinerary are proposed for your review only. We will book services once we receive your official booking requirement and payment. Booking status will be advised afterward. In case we cannot book hotel as we initially proposed due to their unavailability, we will choose a similar hotel in the same category and discuss with you for your final approval as the price may change.

Hotel check out is normally 12:00pm but sometimes earlier. Check in is after 14:00pm. Early check in and late checkout is subject to availability only.

Although it is our intention to operate the itinerary as detailed in the proposal, we cannot be held responsible for any last minute changes made as a result of climatic conditions, alterations to flight schedules or other operational factors.

 

Singles Joining – If you are joining a trip as a solo traveler please add the single supplement to the trip price. If you are willing to share a room please let us know and we will do our best to find someone for you to share with, we will inform you before finalizing the final payment of the trip.

 

BOOKING AND PAYING FOR YOUR HOLIDAY

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of total trip cost per person is required to confirm your tour. Please note that the full balance, as indicated on our confirmation which will be sent to you, is due 45 days before your departure date. If you are booking within 45 days of your departure date the full amount is due when booking. Failure to pay by the due date could be considered as a cancellation on your part and we reserve the right to impose cancellation charges as detailed below (These are default conditions unless you have a predetermined, overriding agreement with us).

 

CANCELLATION CHARGES

Notice of cancellation of your holiday by you once it has been confirmed must be in writing to us. Cancellation charges will be calculated from the date we receive written notice of cancellation. Any amendment charges that arose before the cancellation, and any deposits paid for any pre-booked items or services will still be payable.

If we cancel your holiday you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us.

Deposits are non-refundable.

Itineraries

Day 1

Welcome to Hanoi

This evening our English speaking guide will meet your group at the hotel for a trip briefing.
The regular check-in time is at 1400; early check-in is NOT included and subject to availability

Day 2

Hanoi Half day Tour

After breakfast, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel’s lobby for a full day excursion to explore the modern capital of Vietnam. Early morning exercises around Hoan Kiem Lake are a must for the more active. Pay a visit to the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, One pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature and then drive on to the Museum of Ethnology. The Museum of Ethnology is one of Vietnam’s best with interactive displays and a wide collection of well-preserved objects and documents. It is also a great place to learn about Vietnam’s 52 ethnic minority peoples. Hotel late check out until 18.00. Transfer to Hanoi station for boarding train to Lao Cai. Sleep aboard.

Day 3

Lao Cai – Sapa. Day trek to Mong Sen – Ta Phin

Arrive at Lao Cai in the early morning, transfer along a winding mountain road past terraced hillsides to Sapa, a former French hill resort and home to some of Vietnam's most colorful ethnic groups. Breakfast at Hotel. After breakfast commence trekking. This walk commences with a short walk through Sapa and along a trail through beautiful gardens and lush pine forests. Passing through the Black Hmong ethnic minority village of Mong Sen, where the Black H’mong tribe live, watch the daily life of the friendly villagers. Gear up for another walk through rice paddy fields and spectacular scenery. Rest in a local ethnic school for light lunch before continuing on the afternoon trek to the Red Dao minority village of Ta Phin, the residence for Red Dao and Black Hmong ethnic minority hill tribes living with each other in the same village, as well as visiting a workshop and a nearby cave. Transfer by jeep to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 4

Sapa – Sin Chai (H’mong) – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho

After breakfast we trek through the local market leaving the busy town behind. Before long we follow a paved trail leading downhill to Cat Cat village, where we rest by a waterfall, before continuing through rice paddy terraces amongst spectacular scenery. We walk along a narrow river that eventually arrives in Y Linh Ho village (Black Hmong tribe), where we take a rest by the river. After lunch, we head along the Muong Hoa valley. We spend the night in a local house, by a river - perfect for washing away the day's dust!

Altitude: From 1388m (Sin Chai) - 1227m (Cat Cat) - 1018m (Y Linh Ho)

Day 5

Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Tavan

Today’s trek will continue along Hoang Lien mountain range, which offers you many opportunities to enjoy the view over huge rice paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area. After lunch at a nice spot, you descend into the bottom of the valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You spend the night in a traditional house of Giay minority.

Trekking hours: 4-5 hours (Approx. 11km)

Altitude: 1018m(Y Linh Ho)-1146m (Lao Chai)- 1089m (Ta Van)

Day 6

Tavan – Seomity

After having breakfast, you start today’s trek, which is mostly uphill until lunchtime. Whenever you stop for a rest, you will be able to enjoy the valley view. Before noon, you stop again at a nice spot for lunch. The trek will be softer in the afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seomity village of Black Hmong minority before you arrive in a campsite, which is located nearby a river outside the village. While porters put up tents and cook dinner, you can take a walk to stretch the legs.

Difficulty: Moderate/Challenging
Altitude: 1089m (Ta Van) - 1548m (Seo Mi Ty – the highest altitude of the trek)

Day 7

Seomity – Den Thang – Ta Trung Ho

Once leaving Seomity and the friendly Black Hmong minority tribe we follow the river to Den Thang; a trekking route built in the bottom of the valley with some fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. We stop here for lunch then our trek becomes tougher as it continues to Ta Trung Ho village of the Red Dao minority. We spend a night in bamboo huts and a local house, enjoying the wonderful hospitality and incredible experience.

Altitude: 1548m (Seo Mi Ty) - 1183m (Den Thang) - 984m (Ta Trung Ho)

Day 8

Ta Trung Ho – Nam Toong – My Son – Thanh Phu

You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina with its 3143 m, is located in this mountain range. You will start the trek today by ascending to Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be prepared in a local school. After lunchtime, you descend to the valley and the village of My Son of Xa Pho minority, one of the smallest ethnic groups in Northern Vietnam. From there you take a short walk to Thanh Phu village of Tay minority. Here you spend the night in traditional house of the Tay. You can take a walk to explore the local area while your traditional Vietnamese dinner is being served.

Altitude: 984m (Ta Trung Ho) - 1189m (Near Nam Tong)- 601m( Thanh Phu Village)

Day 9

Thanh Phu – Nam Cum – Sin Chai

Today’s trek will be relatively short and soft. Once leaving Thanh Phu, you follow the trekking route in the bottom of the valley, which offers the best view to the surrounding mountains. You stop at a nice spot for lunch. After lunchtime, you continue the walk toward Sin Chai village of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in tent near the village. The wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao will attract you.

Altitude: 601m (Thanh Phu Village)-200m (Nam Cum) - 733m (Sin Chai)

Day 10

Sin Chai – Nam Ket –Ben Den – Lao Cai

Wake up for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading toward Lao Cai. Once you leave Sin Chai, the trip takes you into a fabulously mountainous area, the most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet children’ curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic minority inhabits the entire area. You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and jungle until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch. After lunch, your trek will be mostly downhill. After about half an hour, you will have an opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful view in days over a green valley lying along the Red River. Here you will be transferred by car to Lao Cai. Dinner and board the overnight train to Hanoi. Day used in Thien Hai Hotel/ standard room (1500-2100) for your fresh up before boarding on train.

Day 11

Hanoi

Our train arrives in the early morning (05.00). Transfer to your hotel for check in and breakfast. The rest of day is free at leisure.

Departure

At your leisure until transfer to airport for your onward flight (OWN TRANSFER).
